Mengci Xiao

PhD Researcher

Mengci Xiao is a PhD candidate at Bartlett School of Planning with research interests lying within urban conservation, public participation, and cultural tourism. She also works as a senior Post Graduate Teaching Assistant at the Bartlett School of Planning, UCL and research associate at Tsinghua University.

Mengci's doctoral project aims to reframe urban conservation discourse via a lens of stakeholder involvement in China by examining the conservation process of two historic urban landscape cases, namely Hongkou-Creek historic neighbourhoods (Shanghai) and Gulangyu World Heritage Site (Xiamen).
